Eno, the Hotel del Coronado’s wine, cheese, and chocolate room, presents two Eno-Versity classes and one connoisseur dinner for the month of October. Renowned winemakers and industry experts lead Eno-Versity classes through an exploration of the histories, types, and flavors of exquisite wines and spirits. Tastings include complimentary cheese and charcuterie.
Pinot Noir: Saturday, October 16
A cult favorite, Pinot Noir has so many styles from the very best Champagne to full rich red wines as well as rosé and white wines. Enjoy a tour through the world of Pinot Noir, and explore and sample wines from California, New Zealand, Germany, Oregon, and France. Guests are invited to then join wine director and sommelier Ted Glennon for a more intimate conversation at a Connoisseur Dinner in the 1500 Ocean private dining room following the class. Dinner will highlight Glennon’s favorite Pinot Noirs complemented by an unforgettable menu prepared by chef de cuisine Brian Sinnott.
Hill Family Estates: Saturday, October 23
A farming family in California for four generations, the Hill family has cared for vineyards for the most esteemed and sought-after wineries in Napa Valley. In 2001, they finally began making their own wines and they are impressive. Please reserve your space early as previous classes have sold out.
Eno-Versity class is held in the Eno wine tasting room from 4-5:30pm and costs $35 per person. Connoisseur’s Dinner begins at 6pm at 1500 Ocean and costs $70 per person. Space is limited for both events. Guests are invited to enjoy either event or both. (619/522-8546, www.hoteldel.com/eno-wine)
