On Sunday, October 10, from 10am-6pm, the Little Italy neighborhood presents its yearly treasured Festa event. Organized and operated by The Little Italy Association, more than 150 vendors will attract 120,000 attendees with the tantalizing smells of Italian sausage, creative chalk drawn masterpieces, and the glamour of the Italian culture, music, and art. All local restaurants will be open, offering everything from handmade pastas and pizzas to fresh-filled cannolis and gelato. Visitors can also enjoy a beer and wine garden, two entertainment stages and one street-side stage, a stickball competition, raffle prizes, and an interactive children’s area. Festa is free and open to the public. (619/233-3898, www.littleitalysd.com) JANE SHIOMI
