On Saturday, September 8, from 10am-3pm, A New PATH (Parents for Addiction Treatment and Healing) will present the eighth annual Strut for Sobriety! luncheon, awards ceremony, and fashion show at the Sheraton Harbor Island. The 2012 Path to Recovery Honorees being recognized for their efforts in reducing the stigma associated with addictive illness include Denise and Gary Cullen, founders of Broken-No-More and national directors of GRASP (Grief Recovery After Substance Passing); Kathi Lencioni, senior VP and CEP of Sharp Mesa Vista Hospital & Sharp McDonald Center; philanthropist Virginia Napierskie; and Neill Franklin, executive director of LEAP (Law Enforcement Against Prohibition). The event is co-chaired by Jenifer Burrows and Colleen Ruis Jackson, and will also feature a silent auction and boutique shopping. Geni Cavitt and Rory Devine (NBC San Diego) will serve as emcees. An entertaining fashion show featuring fashions from Macy’s Horton Plaza will showcase designs worn by professional models as well as guest models in recovery.
