The streets of historic Old Town transform into an art extravaganza at this year’s Old Town San Diego Art Festival. On Saturday, October 1, and Sunday, October 2, from 10am-6pm, the Old Town Chamber of Commerce invites you to experience a world full of colorful art, live music, international food, and exotic wines. Stroll down San Diego Avenue, filled with over 100 artists in a variety of mediums.

The festival features an array of paintings, sculptures, ceramics, jewelry, and furniture, while also highlighting local neighborhood art galleries. This year’s festival will showcase artesian ceramic sculptor, Moni Blom, who specializes in creating whimsical and expressive figurative clay sculptures and masks using vibrant colors, often adding metal wires and gold leaf to her sculptures. Also, a member of the clay associates organization, Blom has been working with clay for about 30 years.

For the kiddos, there will be an interactive Children’s Area, where kids will learn the process of creating, shaping, and decorating clay tiles. Local artists will also be on hand to teach kids how to nurture their inventiveness and originality on a canvas.

Celebrating the progression of the automobile, an awesome display of horseless carriages and classic cars like the Thunderbird will be on display along the streets of historic Old Town. In addition, pleasure your palates to an array of incredible flavors from over a dozen local restaurants and delicious food vendors. Perks also include a craft beer and wine tasting pavilion. After lunch, a myriad of jazzy musicians will take over the stage with earthy rhythm and eclectic beats in the Old Town San Diego State Historic Park.
