For basketball players ages eight to 18, consider LeBron James’ King’s Academy summer basketball camp held July 24-28 at UC San Diego. With options for both day camp and overnight sessions, campers will learn the fundamentals of basketball, including shooting, passing, and dribbling, and improve their skills while utilizing state-of-the-art indoor facilities. James will provide instruction to campers, along with refereeing games and scrimmages, and will be assisted by an elite coaching staff. Campers will also be able to take pictures with James, get his autograph, and ask him questions about basketball, the Cavaliers, and his life off the court. Other special guests may drop by to meet campers and give some tips. (310/650-1378, www.lebronjameskingsacademy.com)   RINA VAN ORDEN
