Enjoy drinks, appetizers, face painting, sweets, and a breakdancing performance by Break Yo Self Productions at Babies By The Sea’s 1980s-themed Birthday Bash, set to take place on Sunday, October 3, from 2-5pm, in the north courtyard of Cardiff Town Center. A costume contest will also feature prizes for the best dressed ’80s icon, valley girl, punker, and mother/baby theme.

Babies by the Sea Boutique has operated in Cardiff for just over one year, offering the latest in fashion and green alternatives for mother, baby, and toddler.  With concepts by local obstetrician Robert M. Biter, MD, and retail expertise from Laura Ann Fairchild, new mother and former owner of LA Fairchild Boutique and Denim Bar, the boutique has become the destination for expectant mothers, babies, and all those who love them.  In fact, Ranch & Coast readers have already named it Best New Boutique. In addition to these awards, the store has also won over San Diego families with sign language classes for babies, infant massage, hypnobirthing prep classes, nutrition resources, daddy boot camp, and many other events that have attracted hundreds of participants.

At Sunday’s celebratory event, the boutique will further its mission to be community responsive by offering free graffiti art with children’s names produced by artists from Writerz Blok, a San Diego organization dedicated to helping graffiti artists channel their talents towards making a better life for themselves.  Newly designed maternity t-shirts to benefit Her Heart’s Wish, a national nonprofit organization founded by Biter to grant wishes to women with less than two years to live, will also be offered for the first time in the store. Free refreshments, food and prizes will be given to all in attendance along with special birthday sale prices during the event.

The I am a hero… private label design t-shirts with capes will also be revealed during the party. This line available exclusively at Babies by the Sea Boutique was created by Biter as a way to foster self esteem in children who may see themselves as heroes each with a unique talent and super powers strong enough to change the world one little life at a time.  Additional private label designs including the Buddies sunglass sets for kids and their adults and Dress Up Onsies will also be available for the first time. All of these products represent the mission to help “grow kids naturally” and provide fashion forward choices in environmentally friendly and socially responsible lives of mothers, babies and toddlers.
