On Saturday, July 10, from 10am-1pm, families, youth groups, and life-learners are invited to relax and have fun during an old fashion summer day event. Interactive stations will be set up around the San Diego Archaeological Center classroom, and participants will have the opportunity to create tussy mussys and rag dolls, scrub clothes on a wooden washboard, punch leather, and play games of marbles and jacks. Refreshments reminiscent of past summer days will also be available.
If the temperature is reasonable, a hike to nearby natural and cultural resources will be offered. Bring plenty of drinking water, wear appropriate foot and head gear, and be prepared to have fun. The museum will also be open for further educational and engaging experiences. Center members will enjoy this event at no charge. A $5 per person or $15 family donation is requested by non-members. For more information, contact Annemarie Cox.
The San Diego Archaeological Center was created in 1993 to provide an archaeological curation facility for the San Diego Region.
