The 26th Annual Hanukkah Happening takes place at the Lawrence Family Jewish Community Center, Jacobs Family Campus on Sunday, December 6, from 11am-2pm. “Every year it has gotten bigger and better,” notes chair Rachel Herman. “It is wonderful to have a place for the entire community to get together to celebrate Hanukkah, create Hanukkah crafts, eat delicious Hanukkah foods, and buy amazing Hanukkah presents and prizes for the whole family. The silent auction this year is going to feature trips and hotel stays — really exciting stuff.” For the first time ever, on Saturday, December 5, from 7-9pm, Peek-a-Boo Preview for $10 will give adults an opportunity to enjoy wine, cheese, dessert, and live entertainment by Jay B while bidding on silent auction items before the big crowd the next day. Proceeds will benefit the Inclusion and scholarship programs at Nierman Preschool and the JCC Youth and Camp Committee. Admission is $2 for JCC members and $3 for non-members. Children under two years old are free. (858/457-3030, www.lfjcc.org)   JANE SHIOMI
