The 8th Annual Sharp HospiceCare Benefit Regatta takes place Friday, August 27, and Saturday, August 28, to support Sharp HospiceCare’s Homes for Hospice campaign, an initiative to build hospice homes in San Diego. Maggie Watkins of Best Best & Krieger LLP and Bill Quealy of KPMG LLP are this year’s co-chairs. The event launches on Friday at the Hotel Del Coronado with a full-course dinner, silent auction, and the music of Detroit Underground. Tickets are $175 each. On Saturday, spectators can head to the Coronado Yacht Club to enjoy lunch and refreshments while watching the regatta up close from spectator yachts. Tickets are $125 each and include entry to the post-race party. This year’s race starts at 1pm at the east end of Harbor Island, winds around San Diego Bay, and finishes near the Coronado Yacht Club. Competitors will race for a chance to compete in the 2011 Hospice Regattas National Championship in Rochester, New York.
