Jeff Hamilton Trio Concert

Published

The Jeff Hamilton Trio will appear Sunday, September 29, at 5pm, at The Saville Theater, in a special concert to benefit Jazz 88.3. With Jeff Hamilton on drums, Tamir Hendelman on piano, and Christoph Luty on bass, the group will present their unique arrangements of jazz standards from “The Great American Songbook.” A collection of some of the most popular songs of the 20th century, selections include tunes by Cole Porter, Jerome Kern, Irving Berlin, Duke Ellington, and many others.

The event is produced by noted musician Holly Hofmann and Keynote Jazz Co., with all proceeds benefiting Jazz 88.3, San Diego’s nonprofit, commercial-free jazz radio station. The station’s manager, Mark DeBoskey, says, “Holly Hofmann’s enthusiasm for this station, and our own role in the local and national jazz communities, is reflected in her presentation of this superstar concert. We deeply appreciate her involvement in the fundraiser, which will increase the station’s much needed operational funds.”

“Jeff’s Trio has played in all the series for which I’ve been the music director over the years, including Jazz in the Park at the San Diego Museum of Art and Jazz in North Park, among others. Jazz 88.3 has also been a sponsor of our activities and regularly features the trio on the station.”

Free parking is available in adjacent lot #8. Doors open at 4:30pm. (www.jazz88.org)
