The Dish: The Rancho Santa Fe Bistro

Published

Mozy Jahanguiri, who has run restaurants in Chicago, Minneapolis, and Dallas, has opened The Rancho Santa Fe Bistro in the space formerly occupied by The Pantry on Paseo Delicias. Jahanguiri has prepared a menu that offers a wide variety of healthy smoothies and juices (how about the “Bruce Lee Energy Boost” or the “Chuck Norris Beat the Blues”?), along with bistro favorites including grass fed sirloin burgers, a salmon BLT, baked brie with grapes, and more. The restaurant is open for breakfast on weekdays and brunch on the weekends, as well as lunch and dinner. High tea and happy hour specials from 3-6pm on weekdays round out the offerings with salmon tartare, a petite slider, or roasted eggplant, and desserts incluing cheesecake, crème brûlée, and black cherry ice cream, which can be paired with tea, beer, or house wine. Speaking of wine, a beautiful wood wine cellar houses an extensive collection that spans an impressive 100 years (1897-1997) at a variety of price points.
