MCASDs Avant Garde

Published

The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego announced its newest membership level, Avant Garde, a special interest group for young collectors and art enthusiasts to network with artists, curators, and peers while experiencing the best in contemporary art and culture. The group was created especially for individuals seeking a deeper relationship with the museum and the greater arts community. Avant Garde members will enjoy a full calendar of engaging social, philanthropic, and educational events, including artist studio tours, private collection visits, behind-the-scenes curatorial tours at MCASD, gallery hops, and more. MCASD’s Avant Garde will host the official TNT After Party on Thursday, October 28 for those interested in learning more about the group. From 9pm-midnight at Vin de Syrah in the Gaslamp, guests will enjoy happy hour pricing, a screen-printing activity by The Roots Factory, live sounds by DJ Ayla Simone, and more. There is no cost to attend the event, but Avant Garde Members will receive free drink tickets, and the first five people who join Avant Garde by the After Party will receive a $20 gift certificate to Vin de Syrah. Space is limited; guests should RSVP by Tuesday, October 26, to avantgarde@mcasd.org to be added to the priority guest list.

Avant Garde is a membership add-on, available for MCASD members at the Dual/Family level and above. The annual fee is $425 for current MCASD members, and $500 for non-members (this includes a $75 Dual/Family MCASD membership). Avant Garde membership includes year-round benefits for two people — perfect for a couple or an individual to bring a friend to each event. (858/454-3541, www.mcasd.org)
